A surface-mounted ceramic two-circuit rotary switch with four mechanical positions, controlling two lighting circuits from one location. The four states are both off, A on/B off, both on, and A off/B on. The starting state and which light source corresponds to each circuit depend on how the electrician installs the switch.

Which switching function should I choose?
300 / 306: Two-way rotary switch; supports one lighting circuit from one location, alternate control of two circuits from one location, or one circuit from two locations using two corresponding Two-way switches. Single Control is an auxiliary catalogue classification. 303 / 307: Two-circuit rotary switch. Controls two lighting circuits independently from one location, with four possible states: only circuit A on, only circuit B on, both circuits on, or both circuits off. 304 / 308: Intermediate rotary switch (Cross / Crossover); used between two corresponding Two-way switches. Each additional Intermediate switch adds one control location. Two Model 300 switches plus N Model 304 switches provide N+2 control locations. The -A version has no ceramic frame and retains the same control function.
